I went on vacation. I still work to progress.

Retooling Updates

  • Once again, I spent a lot of time researching all CMS, SSG, and hosting options.
    • I'm going to stick with Gatsby for now, but I think a raw React or NextJS site with a good CMS may be sufficient in the future. (I probably don't need the full capabilities of an SSG for my apps for now.)
    • I'll probably use both Netlify and Vercel for now. Just to test and play with both.
    • I'm going to use Strapi for my CMS. I probably will self-host this.
  • I have some basic design requirements for my initial sites. I'll reach out to Fiverr help to build the site.
    • In the future I'd like an AI agent swarm to build the entire site – all components – including installation of packages, etc.
    • After the sites get built, I'll integrate them into Strapi and publish.
  • AI studies continue. I've reviewed my progress so far and it's going slower than I'd like but I have learned plenty in the past month alone and I'll continue.
    • Before I thought "prompt engineering" wasn't actually a thing. I thought it was kind of a joke to help no0bs chat with a bot. Now I know it really matters and helps with the results of whatever bot you're building.
    • I have learned different methods and opportunities to build advanced automation with GPTs. It doesn't have to just be a "custom chatbot for customer service" or similar. Advanced and dynamic automation is now possible.
    • I have been testing blog entry generation with different models. Hands down so far, Claude 3 is the winner. Everything about it is best, except for maybe the speed. (It's just a little slower than other models.)
    • I haven't tested every or every model, but I should be finished with that by the end of the week.
  • I have once again built a test site with Gatsby and deployed it to Netlify so I am ready to move to the MVP site(s). To me, this is a WIN. One less potential barrier evaporates.
  • Personally, I have begun to use any.do application. It fits me well at this time for a general task management utility. (Others seem more complex and I don't like the interface.)
  • A former co-worker who now works at Amazon (getting paid quite well) reached out to me yesterday. I think I'll work to accelerate my SANS training (Applied Data Science and AI/ML for Cybersecurity). It sounds like he is building out an AI and automation team for cybersecurity. There may be good opportunities in that direction. (I have a voucher for self-paced training, which can take some time.)
    • I have been delaying this training because I want to first get hands-on with building agents outside of the class.
    • I also have Azure Security Copilot training at the end of the month.
  • There is actually a lot of training for the next month. In addition to the above, I also have to finish Magnet Forensics and general work training as well. (I guess this means I'll just have an excuse to slack at work more.) I love learning new things.
